Playing with Primary Colors

Black has always been a staple for me so it finds its way into my outfits on an almost daily basis. Lately I have found myself being drawn to cobalt and red as well. I love the classic feel of this color combination. I also love that I can easily remove the coat and still be left with a well put together outfit. Not to mention that this dress was less than $20!!!

Family Time

Mom hosted her monthly family dinner yesterday. My immediate family and the kiddos all went to Mom and Dad's for some good home cooked food (considering I rarely cook this was well welcomed!!). It was my turn to pick so of course I picked my favorite comfort food - my mamaw's chicken and dressing. She is no longer with us, but everytime I have some dressing it takes me back to the days when she was and things were so much simpler.

What to wear on day of playing outside with kids and allows my belly extra room for all the food I was planning on eating? I settled on some distressed skinny jeans, a plaid button down, and flat boots. I did not wear any accessories becasue I was afraid the kids/babies would pull on them or I would lose them outside! What would you wear for such an occassion?

Shirt: Maurices - Jeans: American Eagle - Boots - KMart

Put my hair up in a messy bun. There was a light breeze so I had to keep it back!

Thought I would give this a try. I asked my 10 year old sister if I did a good job. Her respons - "No not really"... LOL gotta love her honesty!!

Mint - Two ways - Same Day

Ok - so it is official - I LOVE MINT.  So much that I wore it twice today. Two compeltely different outfits. One is dressy and one is casual. Which do you like better?

The first one is done with a navy sweater, mint button down, and brown trousers (that apparently need to be hemed)!

Pants & Button Down - Vicotria's Secret - Sweater: Loft

Peyton's new thing is doing the "poutty face" - So stinking cute!! This is how both he and I get what we want from his Daddy!! Love this sweet boy so much!!

Second outfit is mint skinny jeans, snow leopard top, and grey blazer. I really wanted to wear my black boyfriend blazer, but I have no clue as to its where abouts???

February Trend of the Month Challenge

Today is February's Trend of the Month Challenge over at Marion Berry Style. This month the trend is black and white. This is my all time favorite look. Maybe becasue it is easy, but I like to think becasue it is a classic. You can have so much fun with accessories when wearing all black and white. I really wanted to participate in this challenge, but due to some contraints I was not able to get pictures together. My solution? Put together a dream outfit based on the challenge. I could easily recreate this look using pieces from my own closet; however, I do want to add this blouse to my own wardrobe! All of these pieces are from Victoria's Secret!
